Who Are We?

The Uni­ver­sity of Johan­nes­burg (UJ) offered a CIMA prepa­ra­tion course for a num­ber of years on an infor­mal basis for UJ Hon­ours grad­u­ates want­ing to study towards the much sought after CMA des­ig­na­tion (offered by CIMAUK).

Due to the ris­ing demand for qual­ity CIMA tuition in Gaut­eng and con­ti­nu­ity in qual­ity ser­vice pro­vi­sion, FAT Train­ing CC was formed in 2007. All the mem­bers of FAT Train­ing are full-time lec­tur­ers at UJ. They are also either Asso­ciate Char­tered Man­age­ment Accoun­tants (ACMAs) or part-qualified CIMA members.

Since its for­ma­tion, FAT Train­ing CC has been the pre­ferred CIMA strate­gic level and TOPCIMA (T4 Part B case study) tuition provider for stu­dents that com­pleted their B.Com Hon­ours (Finan­cial Man­age­ment) degree at UJ.

The mem­bers are com­mit­ted to the suc­cess of each and every course and cus­tomer sat­is­fac­tion is of para­mount importance.

FAT Train­ing offers both cur­rent and prospec­tive stu­dents the following:

  1. Focus and spe­cial­i­sa­tionFAT Train­ing focuses on CIMA tuition only and spe­cialises in the strate­gic level and TOPCIMA (T4 Part B case study exam);
  2. Non-cancellationFAT Train­ing has not can­celled one course since its incep­tion in 2007 and guar­an­tees that it will not can­cel any courses in 2012;
  3. Learn­ing Qual­ity Part­nerFAT Train­ing is a CIMA Learn­ing Qual­ity Part­ner. In addi­tion, all lec­tur­ers on the courses offered, have writ­ten and passed the rel­e­vant CIMA exams; and
  4. Flex­i­bil­ity and adapt­abil­ityFAT Train­ing was the first col­lege in South Africa to offer tuition for the T4 Part B case study exam on PC that CIMA piloted in March 2010.

CIMA Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion in Busi­ness Accounting

The CIMA Cer­tifi­cate in Busi­ness Account­ing offers a solid ground­ing in the basics of man­age­ment account­ing, finan­cial account­ing and busi­ness and is the first step­ping stone towards the CIMA Pro­fes­sional Qual­i­fi­ca­tion. You may qual­ify for exemp­tions from this level, if you have a recog­nised B-degree from an accred­ited aca­d­e­mic insti­tu­tion. CIMA Diploma in Man­age­ment Account­ing (oper­a­tional level)

The three exams at this level (E1, P1 and F1) intro­duce stu­dents to con­tem­po­rary busi­ness sub­jects like ethics, fore­cast­ing, report­ing and mar­ket­ing, from an oper­a­tions view.

CIMA Advanced Diploma in Man­age­ment Account­ing (man­age­ment level)

The three exams at this level (E2, P2 and F2) focus on sub­jects like project man­age­ment, rela­tion­ship man­age­ment, analy­sis of finan­cial accounts and budgeting.
